Strategic adolescent reading intervention (stari)

Our specialist Educational Therapists are genuinely dedicated and passionate about using internationally renowned, evidence and research-based teaching practices. As such, we use the STARI program to support our high school students with their reading and comprehension. 

The STARI program is a small-group, intensive reading program.   

At Thrive Specialist Resource & Community Centre, we are proud to offer the STARI program to students in Grades 7- 9, who have identified or imputed dyslexia and read one or two years below grade level. 

STARI addresses gaps in fluency, decoding, reading stamina, and comprehension and was tested in a large-scale randomised trial. 

Students attend for 50 mins, three times per week for a minimum of 10 weeks/ 1 school term* 

* Best results have been observed after 30 weeks/ 3 school terms.
